Just how my dumb sister-in-law makes soup! No exaggeration!

Opal you have made condensed soup try adding some fluid !……………..and a much larger container :-O

I did the same thing trying to cook rice in a crock pot. Sliced up with a little chicken ala king from a can on top, good enough for an old “Norwegian bachelor”.

I mix it with alphabet soup, that way every letter has a period after it.

I’ve had a bag of lentils in the cupboard for probably ten years. They should still be good, right? That was when I was on my lentil kick, and I overestimated how long said kick would last by one bag. :)

@Calamity Jane: they’ll take longer to cook, is all.

He’ll be chewing that lentil next Easter.

I’d RATHER have Opal’s version! I hate soup; I need something to gnaw on. Of course, I’m not too keen on lentils either. I’m with you, @Calamity Jane!!

That reminds me. I haven’t made Lentil Soup in a while and I have a bag of lentils in the cupboard, NOT NEARLY AS OLD AS CALAMINTY JANE’S LOL! I think I’ll get the rest of the fixin’s and a ham bone at the store this week.

For an entirely different reason, you should never cook more than two hundred thirty-nine red beans at a time.
