That’s a really old saying.

I’d spend a lot more time outdoors, if I were in Earl’s shoes. In fact I’d probably leave one day and never come back for more.

Wise words. We learn by experience.

He probably said something hurtful and rude again.

Sounds like Leon is Pennsylvania German.

Earl is incorrigible, period.

and @ puddymom: Earl and Opal both give as good as they get.

AND….if I may say so, BEAUTIFUL coloring today. Really outstanding.

Earl’s brother sounds wiser than Earl is.

Leon is obviously the youngest. The youngest sibling is nearly always the wisest.

Arthur Godfrey (look it up kids) used the line frequently on his radio show. “Ve are too soon auld and too late schmart.” I had to grow up before I knew what that meant and by then it was too late.

Lessons learned every day!
