I hope Earl never mistook his daughter Sylvia’s (Nelson’s mother) baby booties for a nose warmer when she was that young.

Only Earl would do that.

As a native born Californian, I could never get what “Nose warmers, Ear-Muffs, and Mittens” were all about…must be a "back east cultural thing…Swam a mile day before yesterday and 3/4 mile today…good therapy…

With the weather here in NW Ohio lately, I’ve been wanting something like that. Ski mask works pretty well, but when I pull the bottom part up over my mouth and nose, my glasses fog up.

Earl needs a pate warmer as well

The matching one would make a great “willy warmer”.

In trouble again, Earl? Sigh!

No need for one here. It’s a comfortable 76 degrees Fahrenheit, at 7:45 this morning.

If you’ve done any winter bicycle commuting you know the nose is not where you wear the extra sock.

Kewl. It’s got a built in snot catcher.

That’s snot what it’s used for!

For those of you who keep telling us how nice and warm you are – those of us in the Eastern half of the continent are even now plotting your demise. Soon as we can thaw out, you’re in for it!

If those are ever invented, Earl should get the credit. Or more realistically, Brian Crane.

When Wilma Flintstone was expecting Pebbles, she was being subtle about telling Fred by showing him the bootie she was knitting. He took it, put it over his nose and thanked her for the nose snood (NOTE: a snood is a heavy net used to keep hair in place at the nape of the neck.). 55 years later and I STILL remember that.
