There they go again: “my daughter Sylvia”. Of course Pearl knows who Sylvia is. It’s as if this strip places no expectation on the reader to know any backstory at all.

I always thought that her daughter, Sylvia, had sense of style as great as Opal’s.

Live and learn.

Seniors are getting older every day, don’t you know? What we remembered yesterday, we may not remember today. Men have this issue, too, except it’s usually their wife’s name they forget.

Easy folks . . . .it’s only a comic strip!

Next time, don’t tell anyone, Sylvia.

I guess no daughter would like to dress up like their mom.

I once sent my sister a birthday card that said she was very stylish for a person of her age. On the inside it said “You’re looking more like mom every day.”

Just the opposite in MY family. I always wanted a mother-daughter dress. It was my MOTHER who didn’t.

A lot of the time it isn’t the dress, it’s the stuffing.

I showed my daughter a new blouse I’d bought. She got a very funny look on her face as she said “I’ve got one just like it.”

“Retro” can be a good thing, too.

Is her married name Sylvia Plath? Who in the last 60+ years name their daughter Sylvia. Are these reruns?

All I got out of this is that Opal has another dress. She must be saving it for special occasions.

Everyday there are new viewers to this strip who wouldn’t have a clue who Sylvia is. So lighten up!
