I have solved the fabric store conundrum. I bring a book. Once they figured it out, they put in a whole section of “hubby chairs”. Great store. I recommend it to all my friends.
My wife has her life, i have mine, and we have a shared life. I think if either of us thought we had to do everything together it would be a race to see who drives whom bonkers first.
Dreams, often when the bladder orders REM-Sleep, “Now stop that!” There are old seamstresses and there are bold seamstresses, but there are no new old bold seamstresses.
My stepdad (RIP) used to love to shop, but the one store he refused to wak into was the fabric store. He’d sit in the car & read while mom was in the store.
I occasionally do canvas work. My problem with fabric stores is that when I sometimes go in one to get one simple thing like snap fasteners or grommets, all the other customers in front of me at checkout have carts full of fabrics and every other item sold there. There’s no such thing as a fast lane.
I used to go to the fabric store for thread, chain and delicate tools all useful for modelmaking, but found I was making the staff nervous without a wife to keep me in line…

So that herd of Rhinos didn’t stop you from reaching the fabric store?

Oh dear, poor old Earl :) I’ve often wondered why Opal doesn’t drive herself to the fabric store. She seems to be able to drive to other destinations.

Obviously the fabric store is a metaphor for HELL!You need to get Opal to go with you to the hardware store to balance out the Karma!

Me and my cousin have those reoccurring dreams, too. Being back in high school, back at our old address in Savannah, Georgia, etc.

WHY do some men HAVE to go to the fabric store with their wives?!? Your wife’s not capable/allowed out with the car by herself?!?

I have a recurring dream. But I’ve never been bothered by it. Why should being on a deserted island bother me when Mary Ann and Ginger are there.

Do that many women really go to fabric stores? My wife never does.

Some of the stores on the Coast have Hubby chairs. Lol. Great idea!

Having to go to a fabric store sounds a little like going to jail. You know it’s going to be really bad but there’s nothing you can do about it.

That is actually called a recurring nightmare
