My father loved to avoid commercials. He spent a lot of time on the old Americn Movie Classics channel. He avoided having to see what was done to it by dying just in time. Commercials only bothered me when a program left you dangling until they came back from the break. Now they are bothering me almost as much as they did my dad. I think we had better commercials back in the day. I hit a trifecta about a week and a half ago. First there was that medicare advantage outfit with Namath, followed by another with some guy named Ditka and the piece de resistance was one for a generic little blue pill for men, featuring a guy sitting with his face in his hand, looking like he was awaiting his execution. I sure miss Mason Adams pushing Smucker’s jellies.
