Having been in the military I was used to folding and hanging everything as it came out of the dryer. Was over at my then grrlfrens apt and helping her put laundry away. We were sitting on the bed separating a pile of clothes and chatting and I was folding her shirts which she was ok with but asked me what was I doing when I was folding her underwear, turns out when it came to socks and underwear she would just toss them into the drawer ala basketball shot. When she thought I wasn’t looking she went over to her underwear drawer and literally started fluffing up all the neatly folded items I had put in there! When she turned around she saw me just looking at her, looking at the fluffy underwear, looking back at her…..then both fell on the bed laughing our a$$e$ off! Tru story!

Though Opal didn’t say it out of love, that’s how it was received by Earl.

Earl is a good storyteller, even when the plot is a little thin.

I’m getting tired of this series. I’m a retired, married man. I’ve been doing my own laundry since I was 18. I do half the cooking. My wife and I share taking out the garbage and cleaning the house. We do our food shopping together—I don’t wait in the car. Isn’t it time we ended this “domestically useless man” stereotype?

That’s the big problem with marriage. Women don’t know how much help their husbands could be if they just let these men help.

Soooo….he loves her because she doesn’t ask him to do anything. He’s got it made in the shade.

I’ve always preferred to do the laundry and folding myself. This lifelong trait has kept me in good stead with the ladies in my life. My mother taught me well!

P.S. I do not do ironing!

The most neglectful husbands are always the ones who bawl the loudest and longest when their wives die first.

My husband has always done more than his fair share of household chores inside and out. Then I had severe back issues ending with a collapsed vertebra and spinal cord injury. Since then he has taken over just about everything, bless him. Nearly three years later I’m just starting to pick up at least a little of the load. My parents on the other hand…. My father wouldn’t know where to find his underwear; Mum laid everything out on the bed for him. She also buttered his toast for him, just the way he liked it. My husband almost passed out from shock when I tried to do that.
