I would prefer a fixed dinnertime, 6:30, but my wife insists I tell her every evening what time I want dinner. If I say 6:30, sometimes she says it’ll take longer than that or suggests a later time. Why ask?
For me what I deal with every day, if I am hungry, which is rare for me. As six months ago I suffered accident by falling on my left side, which caused a fracture of my lower left hip, which month later broke because I did bad, sitting in a wheel chair for 3 to 4 months also did not help, if I needed personal help I need help getting up, at early start I had to really change my food amounts by reducing down more, fast forward 5 months in home therapy, when x-ray done through Orthopedic said I could put little weight on my leg, home health, 5 weeks later asked nurse for out patient therapy. Had to go for lab work primary, I not getting enough exercise, rarely get hungry, and through my lab work I am official back in heart attack concern. I live with this each day. My left leg is improving 22nd go for x-ray then determine out patient therapy, I not drove for 7 months.

let me guess: that Sauerkraut sandwich isn’t going to have pastrami nor Thousand Island dressing and it’s not going to be on rye bread (Reuben, folks)

If my choice is a sauerkraut sandwich, I guess I’m not hungry.

Did you see how hunger avoidance results in a sauerkraut sandwich?

I can relate to both sides of this conversation – both Earl’s and Opal’s questions and responses make some sense.
Will Opal start out with a different question next time?

My wife works 4/10s, so I do meals those days: noon and 6 pm. Weekends, around 10 am she asks when I want to eat next.

If it’s on rye bread, add some corned beef and Thousand Island dressing to that kraut and you’ve got a Reuben!

My dad is like this. He has NEVER once said “I’m hungry” just “Yeah, I could eat.”
