Bah. When the poem was written it was about challenging convention and showing your individuality. Now these ‘societies’ are just another form of convention, as bereft of individuality as the social rules they claim to flout. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against anyone getting together and having fun with their friends, if this is what makes you happy, go for it. But everyone dressing the same, for whatever reason, is the exact opposite of the radical individuality the poem espoused.
