Earl does move around some Opal. How is that a easy mistake to make ?

I’ve heard that that is a super difficult error to fix. There are computer databases that bounce information back and forth. You fix it in one place, but it’s still broken somewhere else and the company that’s wrong sends information to other companies that you’re dead. You can’t use a bank, checks, or credit cards.

Wife opened a new account and gave me papers to sign, which I did. I was busy working and she dealt with the bank. Bank manager said that their records showed that I was deceased. I had to show up with ID. Still got the side glance from the manager. BofA……I know what the A is really….

Cavalier Telephone disconnected my phone service for the same reason, decades ago, “wrong address”. yeh, i didn’t understand that either. “how shall we notify you service is restored?” “call me”. got reconnected, 3 months free service. they eventually went under.

Wonder if there is a process for being compensated for the difficulties in reestablishing incorrectly closed accounts. After all, customer’s spend valuable time reconnecting and fighting through red tape and in tracing all the different disconnected accounts.

All that has to be done is cross his hands.

I get scads of pre-approved credit card offers now. Where were they when I was young and actually needed credit?

In February of 2010 it was reported in the media that Canadian singer songwriter Gordon Lightfoot (If You Could Read My Mind among other hits) had passed away. However it turned out that he was very much alive and phoned a Toronto radio station to confirm that he was indeed not dead. Apparently someone had played a hoax and the media had picked up on it. However sadly on May 1 of this year he passed away of natural causes in hospital. I wish it had been another hoax but no, Gordon is gone… :-(

Earl will wake up when his SSB check doesn’t show up. Good luck fixing that when they think you are dead!

Proof positive that the Credit Card Companies are owned by the Government. Almost 2 years after my mother died, the government sent her a covid stimulus check. With both the are times they left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing, most times the left hand and the right hand don’t even realize that the other actually exists.

Well, at least you got an explanation. I recently got declined, and even the credit card company couldn’t explain why.

I have gotten phone calls and e-mail that say things like that. I’ve ignored them and never had any problems.

Opal, you know when Earl dies, you won’t be far behind because you thrive on picking on him. Once he’s dead, you’ll shrivel up and blow away like tumble weed! ;-p
