I cannot find things if I “know” where they are and they’ve been moved far enough to not attract my eye. Or if it’s upside down, in a different colored box or with a different label. Or if I’m just having a bad “recognizer” day…
I have recently reached a conclusion based on self-observation: Men usually miss what is right in front of them because they assume that what they want is hidden. Thus they always look around and behind the object in front of their nose.
If Opal keeps showing him where things are in the fridge, he will stay childlike and unable to help himself. It’s pitiful. If he’s hungry enough, and she doesn’t help, he will eventually find the cheese. I live alone. I can find everything.
Well, rest assured that Opal now knows that she can cram a corpse in the fridge and Eagle-eye Earl won’t ever notice as long as she keeps the Arm & Hammer box replenished (known as the Twisted Pickle episodes now on SYFY Channel. Check you local list to time.)

I, as a male, suffer with the inability to see things in the fridge that are hiding in plain sight.

I think a deep study of male fridge/ cupboard blindness could be a sure winner for the next Ig-Nobel.

I have the same problem. It’s always right in front of me.

Roscoe care not about the situation between Opal and Earl. All he knows is “cheese.”

Last week I couldn’t find the lids for some food storage buckets. Turned out my wife left the buckets in one room and the lids in another.

The human eyes-brain “filling in phenomena” (blind spots) must have missed the cheese.

That’s one very tall refrigerator! Earl will need a step ladder to get things from the freezer.
elgrecousa Premium Member about 1 year ago
Earl’s portrayal as a know-nothing, good-for-nothing buffoon will never end. Nothing politically incorrect about that.
