    My Mother hung clothes on the clothesline when I was young, and once in a while they did freeze stiff as a board!

    I remember my mom putting clothing items in the freezer to get the gum out. Never underwear, but a shirt or two. I can’t recall how well it worked, or didn’t work. Must not have worked too well. I remember gum in my sister’s hair – but mom didn’t stick her head in the freezer.
