RobinHood2013: Not so much racist as socioeconomic (and who gets emotional over that?): “po’whitetrash” is the old term. Back when I was putting a good pack mule out of work carrying the mail, I noticed the main difference between old white (northern European ancestry) and new white (after 1940 Hispanic) was that while the socioeconomic level was the same, the old stank and the yard was full of junk, while the new was full of heat-resistant flowers (hollyhocks, xenias, etc.).
comicsssfan: I delivered papers while in college. The Post office was survival in the early blacklist days. Both were essentially manual labor, but having sociology as part of my interdisciplinary major made the latter actually enjoyable because it permitted interaction with the customers.

Okay, I’m sure there must be something racist in there somewhere, but I can’t figure out what it is yet.

There’s a house here in town with white-painted tractor tires for planters. … I thought they were the only family who did that. :P

My parents have done something similar to that but the tire was painted lavender.
