I’m ancestrally part Danish and the only things I kind of related to my heritage are LEGOS and a Hans Christian Andersen book which my mother bought in Odense after she and her folks were picking up her brother from his LDS mission to Denmark. Oh, also a decorative clog show with a brush from Hjørring.

I know a guy who’s in an accordion orchestra. They’re actually pretty good. The accordions can be set (like a pipe organ) to sound (sort of) like orchestral instruments. They play all kindsa stuff, and sound (sort of) like a real orchestra.

Seems to me they wouldn’t be able to give that CD away, much less sell it at any price.

Interesting to see that Pluggers in Europe are chiming in, no doubt thanks to the Web. Welcome, Henning!

When we were ‘snowbirding’ a few years back, we’d stuff the car CD player with a bunch of these ‘bargains’ and play ’em on the Interstate going home. Sure beat listening to el Rush-bo and /or head-banging Country Rock. One road rule learned;“The good music station you just found is already miles behind you.”

Every once in a while, I have found a gem amongst all of those bargain CD’s. Not often, but enough to make me search occasionally.

As a Dane and a regular reader of this comic I have to object.

We get lots of good ones from the library FOR FREE. Hey, does anyone have a good way to store the ones we’ve ‘burned’? I want a cohesive look and the paper sleeves are not it! If we get a lot of those plastic cases i still want to be able to read the spine when they’re stacked. Any suggestions that are an easy fix? Printing my own paper cover to put in the plastic case sounds awful/time consuming. help!

Does the Danish National Chamber Orchestra contain any accordions? I thought they were focused more on classical..I enjoy listening to classical guitar; but, I’m not sure about classical accordion…

Used records at Half Price Books for $0.50 and up, lots of good deals. And , yes, vinyl still sounds better!
