We have one of those retractable clotheslines 5 runs. have had it nearly 20 years and it still has the original cords. (Something tells me I am going to regret having said that.)
Although we have an electric dryer, I honestly prefer using the “solar powered” one. Bend and stretch is good for the waistline, and there’s no rush to grab the clothes before the wrinkles set in. And things last longer when they are not bashed around in the dryer. That stuff in the lint filter is your underwear, y’know.
The only things that go in my dryer are towels, sheets and unmentionables. I’ve hung 30 feet of closet rod from the basement laundry room beams and hang everything up to dry year ’round.

At least the dryer didn’t break down on a rainy day.

Actually, a true plugger has spare rope in the shed. If he can find it.

Just reminded of the smell of the sun on fresh towels and sheets, wonderful.Sadly I’ve still got some snow patches around my clothesline.

Hang out our laundry every laundry day. If it’s raining, they on the lines in the basement. Love the exercise and outdoors.
