What annoys me and makes me wonder about the people who do it is when people whitewash every tree and rock in their yard, and stick all manner of tacky ornaments in the grass that then have to be mowed and trimmed around. It’s probably related to the mental condition that leads to putting up a crazy amount of decorations for every holiday. Overcompensation for some other failing, perhaps.
