When I was a kid, and you could buy boxes of greeting cards at Woolworth’s or Grant’s, I didn’t understand why there were boxes of sympathy cards in addition to the all occasion cards. Now that I’m in my 70s, I know.
Being retired, I have more time now, and I can design and print personalized greeting cards, including Get Well cards. Sympathy cards are more of a challenge and I tend to go with commercial ones.
As a Plugger, I also find that I still need all kinds of other cards, due to the newer generations. Last month alone, I sent graduations cards, birthday cards, a new baby card, wedding cards, and also a retirement card. No sympathy cards, thank goodness!

Well, with WhatsApes, who needs cards anymore. Why, the cards ran outta business with the advent of SMS itself.
