I forget how old my wallet is. I can’t remember if it was a Christmas gift from my girlfriend or my wife (same person). Either way it’s over 50 years old and no tape.
Just DID THIS yesterday, Had to shake out all the hidden coins from little hole in coin holder area. Was wondering why wallet was so heavy with so few coins.
The trouble is that you can’t find decent, sensible, practical billfolds for sale anywhere. The ones you do find are too bulky, too complex, too expensive, or plain shoddy.
It’s true. Pluggers can make MOST things last longer. Duct tape and/or baling twine will hold almost ANYthing together long enough to use it again, and retape/twine it again, the next time :)
I dunno, maybe I got lucky in the wallet department, but my leather wallet is at least 20 years old and all the seams and dividers are still intact. Don’t get me wrong, it certainly shows its age, but it still gets the job done.
I’ve been on the same wallet for over 30yrs & it is still in pretty good shape. When it finally does need to be replaced, I have a new wallet, still in the box, that I received as a gift in about 1994.
And it’s as wide & thick as a roll of duct tape. Just not full of money – it doesn’t say “Bad Mother******” on it and have about $1,500 in it either, honey bunny.

My wife says I moths would fly out if I’d open mine.

The leather may eventually just serve as the skeleton/pattern for your duct tape billfold.

Then there is the wallet made entirely from duck tape. Advantage, the patches/repairs don’t show.

I know where everything I need is in this wallet. Still miss the coin pouch though. Sentimental reasons.

breaking in (as in “getting used to”) a new wallet is one of the major pains in life
