Just be careful which kid gets to hold the hose.

Yeah, remember running throught the ‘sprinkler’ on a hot summer afternoon ! ! ! ! !

… and water fights.

Hill … Plastic …. Water = Water slide !

Water balloon fights- sometimes the fight was getting the balloon off the hose before it released all the water or the balloon ring didn’t tear off. Drinking out of the hose was a rite of passage.

And the junior pluggers playing with the family pooch in the oscillating sprinkler.

Every kid knows, the best water is in the hose.

The fire hydrant with a loose cap worked good too.

My home town had a drinking fountain “downtown” ran all summer. It was on the corner near the traffic light. (one traffic light towns being the modern version of the one-horse towns of old)

Inner tubes down the irrigation canals…Swimming at “twin tubes” until Union Pacific closed the area off, catching gold fish (carp) at eh fish pond to sell as feeders at he pet store. I can’t remember drinking from the hose, doesn’t mean I didn’t!

OSHA rules! Read the warning label on any hose you buy….“Do not drink from this hose because….” Lord help us.

oh, yeah, altho we usually set up one of those rotating sprinklers… and I swear water never tasted better

They forgot the little inflatable pool.

I’m sad for all the little kids in the world who don’t get these pleasures. I love the sound of children laughing and playing outdoors. I never shoo them from my manicured lawn!

Two spigots. One in back, one in front. Two hoses, two sprinklers. Whee!

And the sprinkler!

Playing in the creek at my grandparents…water nearly ice cold!

And riding in the pickup bed was the delivery vehicle.

nothing like a good gulp of warm water that tastes like rubber when you’re all hot and sweaty…

In drought-stricken California, only water parks are allowed to waste water. :)

Those were the good ole’ days … before hand-held personal devices came around and stated consuming everyone’s time and attention …

That would be me !
