As you get older, you will realize that the new updated model of the same thing are never the same thing. They have to always change something. They pay somebody/someone/him/her/it big bucks to sit in his/her/their/its little woke office to always think of ways of changing things, EVEN if the item was fine just as is! That is why many of us pluggers wear the same clothes, jackets, etc. for years because as we/grandpas/they/them/him/me are, are irreplaceable! We have been fine for years – why change now! If it was up to us/we/grandpas, Harry Truman would still be president and if anyone attacked us, we’d nuke em!
I can’t imagine a Plugger guy doing it willingly or w/o some tears like he lost his forever friend. Usually wifey has to secrete it to the rag bag first. My dust rags were found in his undershirt drawer. We love our Plugger men!
Yesterday I upgraded my running shoes because the heels were wearing out. Of the three different pair I tried on I ended up buying the same brand and model. I didn’t notice until my spouse pointed that out to me. I guess I am a real plugger at 82.
A traumatic experience. Legendary memories in each one. Plus you get to chide a snarky Zoomer with “This shirt is older than you.” And they don’t realize you’re smirking because you’re remembering when someone said it to you.
I have not upgraded my long sleeve flannel shirts for a few years, but I did upgrade my parkas after moving up here. My old cold weather parka is now my mid-weight and I just received my new very cold/heavy weight last week. BC is colder than San Francisco.

looks the one he’s wearing is lighter in color than the one he’s holding (showing its age and constant washing)

And being budget conscious, a plugger doesn’t upgrade his flannel shirt unless it’s beyond all repair! ;D

My favorite winter shirt is over 20 years old. When I wear it downtown no one asks me for spare change!

Yep, love my flannel shirts, which reminds me, I need to order some new software since the winter clothes are going on sale.

A good friend died in 2004 and I inherited his wardrobe. I’m about half way through the flannel shirts.

I’ve got a sweatshirt that’s 30 years old. It’s oversize and comfy. One of my favorites.
