My ‘pull-up’ antenna phone died along time ago. Shouldn’t be any out there working now as they are all pre-4G and everyrthing else has been turned off to make room for the 5G.
My curiosity got the best of me and I googled ‘cell phone with external antenna’ and discovered they actually do exist. The lead-in to one ad: “An external antenna can help to improve the speed and reliability of your 4G or 5G home broadband connection” [kenstechtips.com] . Also, “You can connect most phones to an external antenna by using an installable hands free kit that comes with an external antenna adapter. You can also purchase an external antenna adapter that allows you to connect the antenna directly to your phone.” [Alternativewireless.com] And evidently some smart phones even come with an external antenna port [wpsantennas.com].
All the phones I’ve had seemed to do just fine after the silly little antennas broke off. Perhaps I just didn’t miss the calls I didn’t get. An extra fee to have voicemail then.

I’ve got an Android smart phone (and I know what Android is), but I’m still not attached to the thing as some people.

Way back I did not know the antenna pulls up for better reception. I had the phone for about two years than a friend showed me this feature.
