I’ve seen the circus that results when a fellow with a hip-replacement tries to go thru a metal-detector….lol.

Implants cards for pacemakers and artificial hips, I understand. But for a stent?

I never knew that there was such a thing as “implant cards”. Why? So you can get bragging rights at the old folks’ home?

I’m a scrub tech & get to see these implants put in. This is such a perfect comic for the staff.

My daughter had an implant card for a port she had while undergoing chemo therapy for cancer. Showed it to the TSA agent to alert them she would set the metal detector off. He looked at it, shrugged his shoulders, asked what it was for and she explained to alert them to metal in her body. He waved her on and when she set the metal detector off all agents went ballistic and yelled at her that she should have told them about the implant. She said she did, pointed that first agent with the card still in her hand, collected her things and walked on.

A friend was in Africa in late 2019. COVID, heart failure, pacemaker with autostart. Can’t drive anywhere, can’t do any heavy lifting, etc.

I have implant cards for the lenses that replaced my cataracts. For some reason, it’s important.

I am still all original parts and my eyeglasses (an add on, not a replacement) are rather obvious.
