    “What’s on?”

    “What’s today?”

    “What’s that actor’s name?”

    “What’s this in the refrigerator?”

    “What’s for supper?”

“What the h3ll are you doing in the garage now?”

We used to randomly yell out “I Love You,” until someone noted that we did it to find out where the other was. Now we yell “Marco!” … “Polo!”

My wife doesn’t want to tell me something until she’s in another room.

My wife gets on my case when I yell something to her from a different room. Five minutes later she does it and when i point it out to her I could fart in the room and come out less verbally scathed.

My mom & stepdad used to text each other from room to room (or even across the room).

Now you know why younger couples do so much messaging. My brother can’t make a move without his wife messaging him that she has a better way to do it.

My wife said it seems impolite to be saying “what” to other people all the time. So we have a list of alternatives:

“Excuse me?”“Could you repeat that?”“I didn’t catch all of that.”“Would you spek more slowly (louder)?“Please take off that mask!” …

It’s worse when one is in the lower level family room and the other is on main level in the kitchen or living room!

My wife’s side of conversations tends to alternate between “What?” and “You don’t need to shout!”

Oh yeah … How often my Mom & Dad would yell across the room at each other. They were both approaching hearing-impaired at the time …

if i don’t understand it I ignore it, if it’s important it will get repeated, usually louder too

As someone mentioned about younger people -

We text each other. Mostly we text each other “ok”. As in – I text him “ok” when dinner is ready; he then texts back “ok” to let me know he got my text.

I am taking the garbage out and he knows I am doing so. I text him “ok” when I come back in and he texts back “ok” so I know…

Due to the combination that he has to drive as he suffers from motion sickness so I rarely drive – and I had done so only 5 times (and most of those times were 3 blocks when we dropped off/picked up a vehicle and weather would not let us walk back or to our mechanic) from when Covid started to earlier this year when this happened -

I was called for jury duty. I had become what I promised myself I would never be – the woman who is afraid to drive. (Though I have always been the better driver.) After a trip around several blocks to get me driving me again I was ready to go. When I got to the court buildings what did I do – I texted “ok” to let him know I got there okay. When I was released before lunch time I again texted him “ok” to let him know I was coming home.
