And funky little floaters in the eyes can be entertaining, too.

OMG…this is me every day (and sometimes several!) How do they get these smudges on them when they’re on my face?

You know you have problems when you still have the smudges after you take off the glasses.

Just ordered my first set of glasses. One for near and one for far. Made it all these years with just cheap reading glasses.

Nah, I tend to ignore them until someone says “How can you see through those filthy glasses?” Some kind of mental filter, I guess.

My boyfriend was having fits about his dirty eyeglasses until he realized it was his bushy eyebrows getting mashed against the inside of his glasses that was causing all the trouble.

sometimes with floaters I’m not sure if what I’m seeing is in my eye or in the air

I’m the other way around… without my glasses, I can see the small clock on my cable box, which is about 16+ feet away from my chair, but, seeing up close doesn’t work, unless I have my glasses.

I currently have a collection of eyeglasses as my vision does not change a lot and used to have coverage for same when he was working.

    Distance glasses.

Reading glasses (which I am wearing right now and do so around the house these years and I take off when reading magazines, books…?).

Progressive lens glasses which I wear when we go out.

    Distance sunglasses.

Progressive lens glasses which also are photochromatic – wear when out in the sun and walking around.

Second pair of regular lens glasses which I keep in our car. Why? We used to go to Barnes and Nobles Friday nights and walk around. One night I went to meet him at the door to leave and while waiting was rubbing the lenses to clean them. I suddenly realized I was holding a lens in my left hand and the frame and other lens in my right! I realized that if I was alone I would not be able to drive home using the sunglasses in the car. I had a pair of older progressive lenses still good to see to drive and I keep it in the car – just in case.

Then just for fun – we are 18th century reenactors. When we started I bought a pair of distance and a pair of sunglasses which “sort of looked correct” – thin metal frames. They are also used for the few times we do 19th century. Over the years I was able to purchase reproduction frames so I have -

Modern wire frame small lens clear

Modern wire frame small lens sunglasses (keep in our van so if forget my period glasses ro need to drive van I have them in same)

    Reproduction frame clear lenses

    Reproduction frame sunglasses.

Eye doctor just mentioned that he has started seeing cataracts – hate to think what replacing all this will cost in new prescription when I finally need surgery for same.
