That would be because they’re out working in those conditions, natch.

Alternate caption: A plugger won’t spend money for a car wash when he can just park outside on a rainy day.

Only a problem if 1. You don’t have a second vehicle for the wife to come and get you; or 2. You can’t get a hold of a friend to come and get you; or 3. You can’t get a hold of a towing company to give you a tow.

A Pluggers A/C never breaks down until it’s 90+ degrees.

Our car broke down on a bright sunny day. But it was on Friday afternoon at 6pm, 190 miles from home.

I’ve had my Honda for 16 years, purchased brand spanking new. Still had the protective coverings on it for my test drive. It has broken down exactly one time. I made the mistake of taking to a fast lube place. (JL) They installed an air filter too small from the OEM. A leaf got past it and shorted the MAP sensor. Removed the leaf, put in OEM filter, charged the JL place for the tow and replacement filter as well as the repair fee. They paid it. I never went back to them. The Honda now has 167k on it, still running strong.

I’m 72. About once a month I have a dream where I’m back working in Corpus Christi and driving the long causeway and high bridge. And I’m driving a car I once owned but now badly deteriorated. I realize I can’t continue to use it. So the rest of the dream i go thru an inventory of cars I once owned. Turns out I kept them all…in bad shape, some parked in my grandfathers pasture with Kudzu growing over them, some in my dad’s garage on jack stand with tarp over it, or outside my father in laws furniture store on concrete blocks. All of them run but poorly with a little work, flying across the causeway in a 70’s datsun missing the passenger door and blowing clouds of white smoke. I’ve had a lot of bad cars and they are all still waiting for me in dreamland.

It will, if the bright sunny day is over 90° F with 99% humidity.
