Chazz: Come along with me for a run on the bike trail, Poncho! Poncho: Oooh... I don't feel so goo d... Chazz: You always say that. You're just being lazy. Poncho: No, this time it's real. Chazz: You ever hear of "the boy who cried wolf"? Poncho: Of course. All dogs know that fable. Chazz: And do you get the subtext of that story? Poncho: Sure. Bratty kids get eaten. It's not very subtle.
I think the subtext is, wolves eat when they are hungry, not when the boy is acting bratty.
