Poncho: Do you think I'd be more popular if I got a more attractive haircut! Hudson: Why don't you try being nicer? Poncho: Scoff, who wants to be popular for being nice? That's like putting out an advertisement for people to push you around. Hudson: I dunno, I Iike being nice. Poncho: Not too much off the sides, goofball.
Logicman said,
“Elwood P Dowd said it best in Harvey: “I’ve learned that in this world you can either be smart, or you can be pleasant. For years, I tried smart. I prefer pleasant.”
Hudson is pleasant. Poncho is smart, but in the end, who will REALLY win???? Time shall tell!”
I agree. Those are words to live by… and I don’t think Harvey would have been friends with someone who wasn’t pleasant.
I must admit that I sometimes find myself unable to live up to Elwood P Dowd’s standards though.
