Poncho: It's wooden, emits a calming energy, and has grains that represent the vitality of life. Rats: Smirk! What's its name? Does it come when you call it? Hey, kid, c'mere. Is that it? Poncho: It is! Oh, thank you, thank you, Mr. Rat! Rats: You're getting soft, Rico. Rico: Ah, we're always gettin' such a bad rap. I wanna break the chain.

Further to yesterday’s comments about our Poncho’s bloodline, I just spent WAY too much time going back, and have found the French Bulldog reference in the strip dated December 10th, 2007!
Today’s strip is quite heartwarming I think!

Thanks Bibbler - not only did you confirm (part of) Poncho’s breed.. now we can watch to see if he’s really “found under a porch”.. or if Mr. Gilligan breaks the space-time continuum.

I am currently engaged in warfare at work. Finally got one of the little ones yesterday, but mal grande raton eludes me. He’s too smart to touch the traps that could get him. The little traps would just annoy him, but they hurt a little, so he avoids them, too. He’s strong enough to pull himself out of the sticky traps. The boss wants to cut him in little pieces, but I think such a valient warior deserves better. I know I heard him laughing, as I set traps the other night.

I can still hear you saying We must never break the chain
actually, we really do have to break the chain of kiss up, kick down…
class after class, generation after generation, we take our revenge on the innocents because we haven’t the opportunity (or guts) to take it out on our tormentors…
