Well, that was (kind of) sentimental of Carmen the cat lady.

“Veterinarian Michelle DeHaven says the worst case of chocolate poisoning she ever saw happened when some owners fed their eight-pound poodle a pound of chocolate on his birthday.

“We had to treat the dog with fluids and anti-seizure medication for five days," says DeHaven, who practices in Smyrna, Ga. "Every time we stopped the meds he would start seizuring again. You wouldn’t feed a kid a pound of chocolate, but they fed it to a small dog.”

Good morning fans. Chocolate, nuts and onions are toxic to dogs. Y’all have a blessed day.

Standing on a stool piled with books is dangerous for dogs too and eating with a spoon…he could poke out an eye!

Only a Cat Lady would give chocolate to a dog.

Poncho can eat what ever he wants. Talking dogs get monster perks.

My dog snagged the leftover Halloween candy from the kitchen table. Downed about 20 “bite-me size” chocolate bars, wrappers and all, and looked very proud of herself.

Her reward was two doses of hydrogen peroxide 3% (1 teaspoon per ten pounds of body weight, 15 minutes apart), vomiting twice, and a few hours at the vet.

Candy wrappers are STILL coming out of her.

My German shepherd once ate a bunch o fEaster candy—-he was lucky, he threw it all up. I was not so lucky. I had to clean it up. I WAS lucky that i still had a live dog.

I once had a dog that ate a chocolate donut, The donut must’ve not been made out of real chocolate because she never got sick from it.

Chocolate is toxic to humans, too (theobromine poisoning), but the amount you’d have to eat is so large that it is impractical (but not impossible).

Chocolate is even more toxic for cats than for dogs but since cats can’t taste sweet, they tend not to go for chocolate candy.

Dogs love chocolate and I’ve never had one become ill or die after eating it.

Seeing P and C bonding over almond fudge ice cream made me feel good. Hope she spills some of hers on that damn sweater!

Um, my mini schnauzer has eaten over a pound of chocolate and didn’t even react to it. I guess it wasn’t toxic to her cause she is ten years young and going strong. And she ate it about 7 years ago.

That would kill a real dog, eating that.
