I use the same tree every year.

It’s a real tree, I just need to glue the needles back on each time.

Used to get our tree from a tree farm owned by a retired physics professor from MIT. Coming back the second year, and every year until he moved on, I would walk in and hear, “Hello Mr. Xxxxx, a 6’ Blue Spruce again this year?”. The guy sold 1500 trees a year, and knew every customer, even those he’d only met once a year ago, by name and their tree preference. He said it was a word association he’d used to remember student’s names, and that I really didn’t want to know what association triggered my name.
