I HATE the trend of girls wearing jeans or cords under dresses. I personally think it looks stupid and sloppy. (Oh, I know that isn’t what Teena is doing…just making a statement.)
The dress is not her style. She’s a jeans and tee shirt girl. If you have to put her in a “dress” at least make it a denim jumper or skirt so she can wear her tee shirt with it.
My daughter’s elementary school has a policy that anyone wearing a skirt or dress must have shorts or pants on under it. It seems very intelligent to me; much better than having them constantly exposing themselves on the playground equipment.
Of course, Teena just doesn’t want to wear a dress, so she put it on over her clothes in hopes she would be allowed to take it off. That dress is MUCH too short, though. It would require something under it for modesty.
When ladies finally realize they don’t HAVE to dress as sex objects for men (or their peers) they will finally achieve the independence they have been waiting for. Until then they will continue to be SLAVES to fashion (and fashion designers).

I agree with you. In this case I think Teena just put the dress over what she had on, not to be more fashionable.

Teena, run and hide! Go over to Stick’s house until Mom and Grandma stop this nonsense.

Is it just me or is this dress incredibly short for an active girl, it’s not even down to her knees, surely?

No. I’m talking about knee-length dresses. Also, leggings can be worn under the “tee-shirt” dresses and look better.
