It’s trained not to bark, but to stand in place, and to wag the tail, since it has a tracking collar, if it was let off the leash that is, which I doubt…
More than likely, the handler would be with the dog at all times, especially if they are tracking for a lost child…

There are rescue teams using smaller dogs, like Papillon dogs when a child is involved.
