When I was a little girl, I had a friend who hated her freckles. I told her that I read in a magazine that mud packs on the face were good for your complexion; I took that to mean that it could get rid of the freckles. There was a spot at the end of our driveway, kind of a bowl-sized hole, that always filled & had mud, so she plastered her face with it. Being a good friend, I figured I’d try it, too. Needless to say, 1) it didn’t work; and 2) our mothers were NOT pleased!
