My first thought, due to current events world wide, is the Muslims. Who else is routinely murdering Christians? Terrorists murder, the so-called moderates sit on their hands and passively support the murders.
While I have my own quibble with R-K’s kindly-meant post, and I don’t mean to snerk, I’m keeping your post as a case in point for my argument as to the failure of higher education to be either higher or educational. I refer you to Night-Gaunt for a brief answer to your question.
What I don’t understand about this whole “Happy Holidays” drive is that it seems to ignore that Christmas is mostly a secular holiday in the US. Except for Catholics and Episcopalians, Christmas was a largely ignored holiday until the late 1800s, at which time merchants (mostly Jewish) started promoting it in a successful attempt to boost December sales. So far from “taking Christ out of Christmas,” capitalism actually helped put Christ back INTO Christmas, while creating a day that everyone else, including the non-religious can enjoy some time off with family, as well. It’s the best of both worlds.
