What a shame. We’ve gone from invading countries and slaughtering our own young people by the thousands in a war paid for by rising debts and deficits to cutting both while helping the poor to have better healthcare, and now we’re talking about making rich plutocrats pay their minions a decent wage..I share your despair. This is NOT how empires are built.
We need to stop pointing fingers at each other & work together for a common good. This poopburger has been in the works going back to Nixon. The deficits really started spiraling out of control in the 80’s under Reagan & his supply side economics. Our best years were under Clinton when interest rates came down along with unemployment, the deficits exploded again under GW Bush starting a war in Iraq & no means to pay for it. Granted Obama has had some bumps along the way but at least people are getting back to work & the deficit debt has slowed.
We can trace the problem as far back as you want (It’s George Washington’s fault!), but instead of throwing blame around how about we fix the problem. 3% across the board cuts would be a nice start, cut everything and not just rate of growth, real cuts
