Yes, Liberals are people… unlike Democrats. Same goes for Conservatives… unlike Republicans. Look at it this way, Liberals and Conservatives look at the same situation from two different perspectives, yet with an open mind to understand what they don’t yet realize. Democrats and Republicans, not so much. They’re like Judy and Punch, If one doesn’t see things their way, they’ll just use a bat (symbolizing party rhetoric and propaganda) to try and make their point.
As one of the “liberal trolls” (j gray yesterday) who frequent this strip, I’d just like to say that I appreciate the last couple of days’ offerings of Prickly City..I happen to like the workings of the relationship between Carmen and Winslow, conservative and liberal, who often frustrate each other, and yet -.Most importantly,.Have decided to remain friends!.It’s the story of Carmen and Winslow that gives me guarded hope for the future.
You say Obama is not a leftist, and yet his background and upbringing and mentors are all leftist. Never acted like one? Just what exactly does a community organizer act like, if not a leftist? Leftists never say they are one if they are trying to convince people to follow them.Besides all that I never mentioned the -resident of the White House. I talked about Gruber.
Taking a break from the political whizzing match to mention that I think we all have “friends” who are so (self-) absorbed with their cell phones that it’s virtually impossible to hold a coherent conversation with them (which is what today’s strip is about. I had two friends down for the weekend in September and they were constantly pulling out their cell phones and either reading or sending texts without any thought to how rude that is.
Okay, back to yelling at each other as though anything positive will come from it.
