Intelligence work is never about certainty; it’s about finding evidence and figuring out the best probability. With the WMD, Cheney was cherry picking and controlling the analysis to get a specific answer so he could have justification to go to war. Less about finding evidence and more about controlling it.

Our intelligence services were correct, no WMD. It was the Bush/Cheney Axis that filtered it through their dirty lens of lies and perfidy to attack Iraq for a second time under false pretenses. The US did it before under Poppy Bush too.

It wasn’t just Bush/Cheney. Clinton/Gore used the WMD excuse when they Bombed Iraq in 1998.

British Intelligence, the original source of the WMD intel, has never retracted its original assessment that Saddam had WMD, or at least the components. More yellowcake uranium, anyone?
