I’m seriously wondering whether Scott is in the process of abandoning political commentary in this strip. With deadlines and delays, it’s probably a good idea. I like Carmen and Winslow as characters. But Scott’s other characters have often felt under-developed. And don’t even get me started on the bunnies!
Bottom line: We have a president who generates more bad news in a day that, by the time a daily cartoon can be published, is already old news and forgotten. So, if Scott wants to turn this into just the adventures of Carmen and Winslow, I’m along for the ride.
Really, really off topic here. I found myself quite offended by the use of acronyms these last few years. First, it was POTUS, then FLOTUS. But the one that was really over-the-top was SCOTUS! Is it just me, or did that one sound a bit obscene?
My main message being, whether it was Obama or Trump, somehow, calling them POTUS should be beneath our dignity – no matter what we think of the men or women who hold that job.
Last, and certainly least: If there were a vote for characters for Scott to bring back, I vote for the prairie dogs from a few years ago. You know, the ones who burned an image of Carmen in effigy because, to them, she was a RINO (Republican in Name Only). Now, that was the most astute commentary I have ever seen in this strip – and a good diagnosis of what is ailing the Republican party!

Looks like the conservative commentators have jumped ship on this strip. I don’t blame them, though.
