The House is busily seeing if they can impeach Trump for being Trump. [There are a couple interesting constitutional side questions – can a party in the House majority at the time simply launch an official impeachment ‘inquiry’ at the direction of their Speaker, without the consent of the House as a whole, and if so, what is the minimum number consenting Representatives required to launch the process?]. Seeing as how the Dems have been tirelessly trying to remove Trump from office since before he was even inaugurated, the House may indeed impeach him. Whether he will then be convicted in the Senate, and removed from office, is doubtful, unless there’s a great deal more evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors 1than has been produced so far.
