For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Actually there is… I Talked to the Cassandra of the Internet Age — The internet rewired our brains. He predicted it would. By Charlie Warzel https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/04/opinion/michael-goldhaber-internet.html
About once a year – usually sometimes when things are a little quieter in my life – I reread the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Depending on what is going on in the world, I might then read the Communist Manifesto or some other such “founding” documents to compare and answer these kinds of questions.
The problem isn’t that there’s no book. The problem is that there are more than one, and they don’t have that monopoly position that the other one enjoys, and you can’t hop out and find someone to tell you which “one” book to read without exercising some of the same critical faculties you’re trying to avoid using now.
Kevin McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Green, and Liz Cheney.
It was alleged that Kevin sought an apology from Marjorie Taylor Green for her past statements. Well, having seen the video, it looks like Kevin got his apology, all right.
From Liz.
So, thanks to a secret ballot, Liz was finally allowed to keep her job.
These days, the secret ballot (for legislators) seems a lot like the old custom of having twelve men on the firing squad, but only giving one of them the gun with an actual bullet in it.
That way, none of them would know which of them actually killed the condemned.
The secret ballot (for legislators) kind of does the same – we don’t get to know who voted to save – or kill – Liz Cheney.
While she won by a large margin, it was not unanimous.
Yes there is a book, or maybe pamphlet would be a better description. It’s called “The Constitution of the United States”. It’s a good guide about how to conduct politics. Too bad both sides keep undermining it.

Since it isn’t “upstairs,” I assume she means faith in her party. Which is something you shouldn’t have faith in in the first place.

The upthere book could help with the downhere, but the right-wing populists have completely jacked that up among their many boondoggles.
