Thinking is for non – electeds? Does that mean that those who are elected don’t think?

Republicans* want to have all elections to be determined by the amount of money ‘raised’.

A clipboard? How quaint! Get an I-Pad to show you’re computer savvy. There should be plenty of “hot spots” in the desert! (… What?)

Seriously Carmen, you thought elected officials got time to research and study the issues and formulate responses to them? That’s what your staff and party platforms are for. You are there to draw attention and raise money.

I have come to the conclusion that a “thinking elected” is rather like that proverbial dancing bear. It’s not that s/he does it well, but that s/he does it at all. /s

Alas, Carmen. You’re not smarter than all the politicians. You’re probably not a better leader than the generals, and not a better economist than some ivory tower bean counters. And after you’d assumed the contrary.

I beg to differ, well a little bit. There have been a few elected officials who were ‘good thinkers’, but they weren’t always very effective leaders although some were. Dwight Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama come to mind. I didn’t always agree with them, but I’ll give them credit for being able and willing to ‘think things through’.

What people want is really good sound bites…and chants, lots of chants….bonus if it looks good on a t-shirt.
