Where’s the one that really applies these days? You know which one I’m speaking of, don’t you?

Shakespeare and Dickens didn’t need to use them, so neither do I.

    New Emojis In 2022-2023

A Shaking Face, two pushing hands, and a plain Pink Heart. These are just some of the emojis that are up for approval this September. Ahead of World Emoji Day, Emojipedia has created sample designs for each candidate emoji. While some might not make the cut, most presented for approval are historically confirmed.

Other inclusions on the Emoji 15.0 draft list alongside Shaking Face and Pink Heart are Light Blue Heart, Grey Heart, Donkey, Jellyfish, Hair Pick, and a Khanda – the symbol of the Sikh faith.

Kids no longer learn Cursive handwriting or apparently spelling. Young people text messaging seems to me(yes I am an old, crotchety man)that we are well on our way to becoming a nation of illiterates.

In the future is the US going to be reduced to using a form of spelling along with a form of hieroglyphics otherwise known as emoji’s?

An aside, back in the late 70s I was the Training NCOfor my unit and I had noticed how the training manuals had been turned into comics-and how under educated most of our E2 and E3 were. In fact it had gotten so bad at my unit in Korea(76 thru 79) that our Battalion actually had to hire someone to teach our young soldiers how to read. Yes things really were that bad. I had no idea how they managed to get thru their short(6-12 weeks average)tech schools, much less basic training(myself and another E6 overheard some E2s saying that they planned to take the train to visit one Privates home in Oakland CA for the weekend. We were in Korea.) Yes, they were totally serious.

A picture can be worth a thousand words, an emoji, maybe eight?

I tried a bag of emoji wafers with chocolate on one side stamped with the face. The cookie sides would look very much like what Winslow’s tossing.
