Bird calls. Many of them sound like words, some of them food words. “Cheeseburger” is a common call from a black-capped chickadee (apparently not shown in the strip). Do an online search for a chickadee call and you’ll never NOT hear “cheeseburger” when there’s a chickadee around.
Dog #1 would regularly be waiting at the door when we got home from somewhere, concern and anxiety all over his face, ready to let us know that Dog #2 had gotten into the garbage, gotten herself trapped in the back stairwell, or otherwise gotten into some trouble that we would be cranky about.
Oh, I hate this (lack of) logic. It’s like being terrified of all tall blond men because a friend of a friend of a friend was once mugged by a tall blond man.
And it’s even more frustrating when the person is screaming at you on the street or in an elevator, even though your dog is 10 feet away from them and on a leash.
They do! Except for the one time it got put on the right eye by mistake.
