heh-that’s what I get for lazily cutting and pasting somebody else’s recollection of that strip! As I recall, the original text was just “a flight of Phantom jets.” My bad.

Remember the old BD in Vietnam strip, where BD, lying on his back, says, “Is there anything more beautiful than a flight of F14-Phantoms overhead?” Then a butterfly lands on his nose, and Phred says, “Bravo for life’s little ironies.” (later the title of a collection)

I just assumed Trudeau is being slightly self-referential today.

Silly Pab–it was clearly “Ida Know!”

Better yet, could you find a way to pin the murders on Bil Keane?

Sherlock, a small quibble–thanks to its rediscovery by MST3K, “Manos: The Hands of Fate” has surpassed “Plan 9” as the Worst Movie Evar.

Wow–this is the best combination of historical perspective, gravity, AND non-cheesiness that I’ve seen in the “congratulations”-type cartoons. Inspiring without being heavy-handed. And bonus points for not doing yet another variation on the “Lincoln Memorial” meme.

Wait, MF is able to load himself in the truck? This is moving waaaay too fast–shouldn’t Locher take a couple of days to explain that?

In other news, the Baron has a chip in his head.

Now all we need is Roger Smith to show up with the Big O…now THERE’S a giant robot: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280240/

Oh, and Braces, the word you wanted yesterday was probably “rebuffed,” not “rebuked.”

Sooo…on 9/15, the robot was apparently about 20 feet tall…and today, it fits inside a standard office hallway (assuming any building in DT has “standard” measurements, which may be far too much to assume).

We may have to stop calling this thing “Mecha-Dickzilla,” as that refers to the wrong Toho Productions rubber suit. With its ability to resize at will, TrazeBot is clearly modeled on Jet Jaguar.
