So, yes! Danae and Victoria are perfect for eachother. I can’t imagine anyone else being Danae’s mom at this point. Strong enough to put Danae in her place, playful enough to roll with her as well. And finally, a Victoria comic where people aren’t calling her names or saying she’s a controling bitch!

More like subborn and irrationally fearful of self-assured women.

Doty, not to be an bleeep, dude, because I too know women who are controling as hell. In fact my last ex/current best friend has a problem with being controling. I’ve learned to just put my foot down every once in a while. That’s helped quite a bit. But I don’t think that’s the case here. I don’t see Victoria as trying to control everyone’s lives. I do see her as a clever young woman, and a fiercely assertive one, but I don’t see her as a controling one. I think she genuinely likes Joe, probably even loves him, and I know she loves the girls and they love her back (who spent so much time trying to hook them up in the first place?). She’s just not a woman that’s going to be pushed around though. I think Wiley’s taking his time establishing that so that we can see how that plays against Danae’s own assertive, domineering personality later.
Or to put it another way, from one person who’s gotten yelled at for taking comic books too seriously to another comics fan, you’re taking this strip way too seriously. You’re reading motivations into a character that simply aren’t there and trying to paint her as some kind of malicious succubus, which she simply is not! Yes, Wiley is a satirist first and foremost, but he’s not Garry Trudeau and this isn’t Doonesbury (not to disparage that strip though since I absolutely adore it and think Trudeau is the best satarist in the history of comics, be that strips, comic books, or graphic novels). There’s no hidden meanings to look for in his stuff. He just bludgeons you with it.

Lol, I’ve been telling you guys for what, 2 months now, that Victoria will make a perfect foil for Danae because she’s going to be able to be the one person to put Danae in her place, didn’t I? Didn’t I?
Anyways, I loved this strip, and I have to say to you Wiley that Victoria has never looked prettier than in that second to last panel!

1) COOL! Victoria is back!
2) I like the new hairstyle, and seeing her with softer lines for her face again. She’s pretty.
3) @Wiley* Are we going to see this whole storyline with Victoria collected, or should I just print out the strips as the come out and make my own (kinda) collection?

Before Evey, life was boring.
Well, I don’t know about that, but I know Wall-E was lonely!

Boy, I know I’ve been here just a short time, but this might be the most divisive strip I’ve seen so far. And I gots to tell ya that compared to some of the bleeep I’ve done in my strips, this is tame. I mean I’ve had Duela Dent blow up half of the DC universe Tom and Jerry style, had Blue Beetle give Traci 13 a coolie hat for a christmas gift, and had Linda Danvers try to murder Kara Zor-El numerous times.

Up to now, I have liked Victoria but this stunt did very little for me. When I see this type of behavior, I wonder if it would be okay to yank on her undergarments (whatever that might be) if she said something a stranger didn’t appreciate but that would not seem very funny.
Maybe I should just accept that all men by their very nature are inconsiderate jerks but then again I am a guy so what do I know.
Dude, it’s a childish prank, and an example that Victoria isn’t a character that’s going to get walked over. If anything, I think this was done to foreshadow that she’s not just going to let Danae get her way anytime she wants, but is perfectly capable of putting her in her place without fear.
In other words: DON’T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY! I get too much of that on the superhero boards I visit.. I don’t need that kind of drama here.
GRAVESYTES! HECK YEAH!
