In the context of this panel, “lay” is correct. “Lie” means to tell an untruth. Right there with everyone today one using “love” when they should be using “like”. Our American language has gone to hell.
“More clear”? The term is “clearer”. In a strip that contains so much activity in a school setting, it would seem the author might contribute to the use of proper grammar. Our language has become butchered with terms such as “10:00am in the morning” (am stands for morning); "you’ve (I’ve, we’ve, they’ve) got (to) something (noun or verb). “Have got” is gibberish. “Return back”. Huh? Isn’t returning the act of going back? “These ones”; it’s “these” or “those”, period. “Like…”; for some people, “like” is their every third or fourth word. “You know…”; If I know, why are you telling me this?
You and I are ancient history. Proper grammar is today an anachroism.
