I’ve just read ‘The end of overeating’ by David Kessler. Corn syrup (sugar, basically) is added to foods to increase the brain’s opioid response, which ultimately makes us crave the food more. Same for salt and fat.
How about, when society rebuilds itself, we don’t have any pets (especially of the ‘languishing in a cage’ variety), but instead take better care of each other. Then we can have a well-cared-for citizenry as the benchmark of a healthy society. Big ‘boo hoo’ for the gazillion-dollar, house-pet supplies and veterinary services businesses. Don’t get me started on dog and cat poop.
Sounds counterintuitive, I know, but if you don’t want insects around, inside or out, nurture spiders. They’re the best pest catchers (and eaters) around.
Time for Buck to experience a little slap down, me thinks. Non-violent, of course. Just to remind him there are limits to how much you can bite the hand that feeds you.
That should be “Frank’s”, shouldn’t it?
