In addition to the Fuddrucker’s gag, early drafts of the script had another scene showing the devolution of sports, with a stadium’s marquee sign changing from “Championship Baseball” to “Extreme Baseball” (essentially just a bat fight), to finally just “Fire”.
To be honest, I never liked it. The names were far too contrived.
On the other hand, it was the original that spawned a heap of funny imitators. My favourite one is the George Bush Hu one (mainly because all the names are real people)
I know a guy who, when his dog died, buried it wearing swimming goggles and a towel as a cape. He then went into his shed and welded various metal things into various weird lumps and buried them around his dog.
I’d give my left foot to see what would happen in a couple of hundred years time when the archaeologists come across that find!
