In type 1 diabetes, the body produces no insulin. In type 2, it doesn’t produce enough. So obviously, type 1 is even more serious than type 2. However, don’t make the judgmental error of assuming that type 2 is simply a matter of controlling one’s diet and exercise. It isn’t, especially in families where even skinny people inherit it. And yes, it, too, can cause loss of limbs and death if not controlled properly.
“Concerning the Benders, seriously the sniping is getting really old, the syndicator, United Media, is the one whowill suggest to the Benders when it’s time to bring a new person in. The Benders have no obligation to tell readersabout a plan of succession until it happens. Alley Oop is theirs to give to the world and if they want to do it for 10 more years with assists from John Wooley more power to them. No one is forced to read Alley Oop.”
So well said! Thank you. It’s good that more commenters here are objecting to the bullies’ rants. School kids are told not to just be bystanders when they observe bullying. Guess we shouldn’t either.
Years ago, I once waited an extra long time beyond my appointment time. Fortunately I hadn’t complained because I later learned that the doctor was spending extra time with the patient before me while giving her the news that her condition was terminal.
We weren’t taught to believe the Easter bunny or Santa were real, but we had fun pretending (and getting an extra present in our stockings.) We knew it was a game. I suspect the “believing” is more for the parents’ fun than for the children.
