GOP Senators who voted against the Continuing Resolution were Jeff Flake (AZ), Lindsey Graham (SC), Mike Lee (UT), Rand Paul (KY), and (drumroll, please) Mitch McConnell (KY).
The one with the round glasses is Michael Doonesbury.
And the one you’re probably really referring to is Bernie (I don’t know if we’ve ever seen a last name for him) – a Walden classmate of Mike’s, and a fellow commune member.
I thought it was still Joanie Caucus. (Though why she would keep her ex-husband’s, Clinton’s last name, rather than her new married name or a maiden name, is a mystery to me.)
There were actually a few times that they referred to more than one child (of Joanie’s and Clinton’s). Once, I recall, was in (divorce) court, when there is a reference to, “the children.”
I have many (most?) of the books, and it looks to me like every strip is not included in the books. When I look online, I can find strips I haven’t seen in the books I have.
SusanSunshine, great explanation. I’ve never quite figured out whether JJ had any siblings (besides her half-brother, Jeff), though. When she first came on the scene, she would refer to her, “kids” (plural), such as seen 22 Sep ‘72 (http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/1972/09/22#.Uvz64GRDvjg) and Clinton referred to their “youngest” daughter (26Sep72 – http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/1972/09/26#.Uvz9ymRDvjg). By the time we hit April ’73, there’s only reference to one child, though.
For those of you asking about Alex’s third kid, see the 4 Feb strip: https://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/2018/2/4
